Step-by-Step Instructions

Once you have gathered all of the necessary tools and materials, follow these steps to install your new bathtub faucet:

Turn off the water supply to your bathtub. There should be two shut-off valves under the sink, one for hot and one for cold water. Turn both valves clockwise until they are completely closed.
Remove the old faucet. Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the nuts that hold the faucet in place. Once the nuts are loose, you can pull the faucet out of the bathtub.
Clean the mounting surface. Use a damp cloth to wipe away any dirt or debris from the mounting surface. Apply a thin layer of plumber's putty around the base of the faucet.
