How To Adjust A Kohler Bathtub Drain

Kohler bathtubs are designed to be long-lasting and durable, but like any fixture, they can occasionally need adjustments. One common adjustment that may be required is adjusting the drain. There are two main types of Kohler bathtub drains: pop-up drains and toe-touch drains. Pop-up drains are opened and closed by pressing down on a stopper. Toe-touch drains are opened and closed by pressing down on a lever with your toe.

Adjusting a Pop-Up Drain

To adjust a pop-up drain, you will need a pair of pliers and a screwdriver.

Turn off the water supply to the bathtub.
Remove the overflow plate. This is usually held in place by a few screws.
Use the pliers to loosen the locknut that is located underneath the overflow plate.
Turn the drain stopper clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the height of the stopper.
Tighten the locknut to secure the drain stopper in place.
Reinstall the overflow plate.
Turn on the water supply to the bathtub and check for leaks.

Adjusting a Toe-Touch Drain

To adjust a toe-touch drain, you will need a pair of pliers and a screwdriver.

Turn off the water supply to the bathtub.
Remove the toe-touch lever. This is usually held in place by a screw.
Use the pliers to loosen the locknut that is located underneath the toe-touch lever.
Turn the drain stopper clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the height of the stopper.
Tighten the locknut to secure the drain stopper in place.
Reinstall the toe-touch lever.
Turn on the water supply to the bathtub and check for leaks.
