Bathtub Drain Stopper Stuck in Closed Position

Step 3: Remove the Overflow Plate

Step 4: Lubricate the Stopper

If the stopper is still difficult to remove, you may need to lubricate it. Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly or WD-40 to the stopper and work it into the mechanism. This will help to loosen the stopper and make it easier to remove.

Step 5: Replace the Stopper

Once the stopper is removed, clean it thoroughly with soap and water. Then, apply a small amount of petroleum jelly or WD-40 to the stopper and insert it back into the drain. Tighten the stopper until it is snug.
