Step 2: Remove the Existing Spout

Begin by shutting off the water supply to the bathtub. Open the faucet to release any residual water. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the set screw located on the handle of the existing spout. Remove the handle by gently pulling it towards you.

Next, use an adjustable wrench to loosen and remove the retaining nut that secures the spout to the bathtub. Carefully lift the spout straight up and out of the mounting hole.

Step 3: Apply Plumber's Putty

Apply a generous amount of plumber's putty to the threads of the new spout. The putty will create a watertight seal between the spout and the bathtub surface.

Step 4: Install the New Spout

Align the new spout with the mounting hole and gently push it into place. Tighten the retaining nut securely using the adjustable wrench.

If your spout requires an Allen key for installation, use it to tighten the set screw located on the underside of the spout.

Step 5: Reattach the Handle

Position the handle onto the spout and insert the set screw. Tighten the set screw using the screwdriver.

Step 6: Reconnect the Water Supply

Turn on the water supply and check for any leaks around the base of the spout and the handle. If there are any leaks, further tighten the retaining nut or adjust the handle accordingly.
